New Covenant Tabernacle was founded by Pastors John and Marie Sorrentino. After graduating valedictorian from the Morris Cerullo School of ministry, Pastor John was invited to work for Dr. Cerullo as his "I Care" Director. From there he became his North American Crusade Director. In 1983, Pastor John felt the urging of the Holy Spirit to pioneer a church. It was important to Pastor Marie that it be a "Joseph's coat of many colors" church. So what started in 1984 as a bible study of 13 has become a ministry that has touched thousands.
